2018 Australian National Championships
We are very proud of our Dojo’s efforts and success at the 2018 Australian National Championships held in Brisbane on September 16th, organised by IKO Australia Branch Chief Sensei Dominic Hopkins. Approximately 120 competitors from Australia, New Zealand, and New Caledonia participated in this national event.
With 12 competitors from 9 years old to — well, a lot older — everyone from Central Kyokushin showed the power to persevere and the true spirit of OSU.
The kids all fought well, often against bigger opponents, and have many things to work on as they sharpen their fighting skills.
Congratulations to Jackson who took out the Colts 13-14 yrs division against his dojo mate Praveen.
Great kata was rewarded with Daniel and Liam winning their divisions and Charlie placing second.
Mohammad and Liam fought it out for the final of the Men’s Novice Middleweight with Mohammad taking the win.
Daniel convincingly won the Men’s Novice Heavyweight division whilst delivering a nice knockout along the way.
Special mention must go to Pat who won the Women’s Masters division, despite it being her first tournament! She is a shining example of what happens when you put in great effort, dedication and exercise patience.
Finally, Callum had some great fights and is now the Men’s Elite Lightweight Runner-Up.
